I know almost all of us have been working camps this summer. It's a long, tedious, but rewarding process.
I am happy to say that I have finally Directed my own camp, and successfully made it through the week. We held a Nike Camp at Concordia last week-Monday thru Friday, 9am to 9pm. What the crap was I thinking...12 hours a day? Why didn't anyone warn me? Someone should have told me I was CRAZY!! lol...
I hope all of you are having a great summer, and if you have suggestions or comments on what you think makes a GREAT CAMP, please respond so I can jot them down for next year. :) If you have never worked a camp for your sport, I highly recommend it. There's no feeling like working with a kid over and over, and when they finally get it, make it work, and start jumping up and down because they did it correctly...WOW!!! That smile is worth a million $$!

Well April, I will be the first to tell you that you are crazy, lol. I am glad though that you had that experience, just make sure that you realize the lesson in it and take it from there.
I'm heading to northern Wisconsin on Saturday. I'm working at a camp. It's for 5th-8th graders. I'm in charge of "fun and games." About 85 kids who need to be entertained every day. We have classes set up in the morning and afternoon. I mainly do the evening activities: relays, scavenger hunts, etc. I also run a vb tourney for the girls and a softball tourney for the boys, along with an olympics for everyone. Most of my family is also involved so it becomes a mini family reunion. I'm really looking forward to it. Log cabins, camp fires, home cooked meals (by someone else), and a clean lake to swim in. But no email or internet access. Hope eveyone is having a great summer.
